Check Out Our Polyvore.com Contest!

Would you like to come back in another life as a fashion editor? Don't wait to be reincarnated. Swing over to Polyvore.com and start creating your own fashion spreads. While you're there, check out the contest we just launched with Polyvore to celebrate our new fragrance, Hypnôse Senses.

Just create your own fashion spread (or "set," as they call them) that reflects your fashion sense. We'll pick one winner who will receive a $250 lancome-usa.com e-gift certificate and a bottle of Hypnôse Senses, signed by Hypnôse spokesmodel Daria Werbowy. Five runners-up will each receive a $100 e-gift certificate and a bottle of the scent.

Haven't smelled Hypnôse Senses yet? It's a subtle blend of pink peppercorn, mandarin and patchouli. You'll smell like the sexiest, chicest hippy around. Men and women alike will fall in love with you, animals and small children will follow you everywhere. (Okay, I'm exaggerating...slightly.)

See you on Polyvore. Good luck if you enter—and we hope you do!

Hi! I have a question. I have a draft saved at Polyvore.....How do I convert to a "set"? I clicked "publish"...but still have no sets listed. Their tutorial video is down. I'm not sure how to submit to the contest. Thanks!

If you have clicked "publish" it should come up as a set, check back to your profile.
Sometimes Polyvore can have a little glitch where your set will come up as a blank set,but it should eventually show.

Anymore problems just drop by to me or anyone else on the site.

Thanks Strawberry Fields...I'll go back and see if it's there. It's saved as a draft, so, it's not lost. Kerry, I'm a newbie for sure, but, I'll send you the link...I wish it were as beautiful as the photos posted here. I loved them!

Just found the blog, looking forward to seeing what new and exciting tidbits you might have about Lancome. Very cool you were the author of Kevin Aucoin: A beautiful life. I love the book! x Belle

Ok, so here's my set:

It's not going to make anyone's final cut but was fun to create nonetheless.

I strongly recommend everyone submit a set! A chance at $250 in your choice of Lancôme products is definitely worth the time to create one.

Patrick, Marie, love your sets! Lily, any luck? And Belle Du Jour, thanks for saying that. Kevyn was so amazing. I often think about what his take would be on this new world of blogs and videos and websites.

By the way, if any of you have favorite Polyvore sets, let us know. We need to pick the runners-up and I'll need help!

Here is my simple creation- I am still learning Polyvore. I really just wanted to concentrate on the peachy colors and the main perfume notes :)

P.S. I tried the original Hypnose (and loved it) but not the Senses... Are they much different and in what way?

Lily, so pretty! Glad your set was finally published. Um, I don't even know what Google Chrome is. Should I? But great set. It's very dreamy.

Anna, the two Hypnoses are like day and night, except they're both gourmands. Sorry if that's confusing. The original Hypnose has blue "juice." (That's what the industry calls the actual fragrance liquid.) And Senses has a peachy-colored juice. Both have vanilla notes, but Senses is more sensual (hence the name) and warm. The original Hypnose is more like a blue icy pop meets vanilla meets passion flower.

I wish I could describe fragrance like Chandler Burr or Luca Turin!

Patrick, you know the two fragrances. What do you think?

I love Polyvore! It is like Dress Up Dolls for Adults. I am heading to the mall today to smell Hynose! I can't wait!

Toodles!

Thanks Kerry. You're very kind :) I'm not tech savvy, but, I guess it's the server you log on to, to go online. My desktop has 2 different icons to click on. Have a great Halloween!

Good luck to everyone who entered, this was a fab contest, thanks to Lancome and Kerry.

Patrick said...

My apologies, I'm terribly late to this.

The two fragrances are tied together in that they are both meant to evoke a sense of seduction but in different ways. Or perhaps better said in different modes.

Seduction is an art and like any other art, there are many styles

When I smell a fragrance the image of the woman meant to wear it immediately pops in my head

For Hypnôse, the woman exudes sex appeal. But not in a tacky, forced way. More in a kind of "I couldn't be non-sexy if I tried" kind of way. Think Sophia Loren.

For Hypnôse senses, the woman is absolutely comfortable in her own skin and knows how to move well in it. She is a woman who can, the morning after, dressed in an oversized white button down and nothing else, hair disheveled, flash a small smile and totally have one in the palm of her hand.

The creativity in these entries is simply amazing! Better than some of the tired layouts I see in today's magazines!
